When the bakery is making this granola, it perfumes the entire store with a beautiful aroma. She uses cashews, pistachios, almonds, oats, cinnamon, salt, dried tart cherries, butter and raisins - but this granola is definitely greater than the sum of its parts!
We love it in the morning with fruit and yogurt, or as an easy snack at any time of the day.
We pack this granola in a reusable Weck jar, which makes it a perfect gift!
I was reluctant to purchase this, given the cost, but decided to give myself a holiday treat. This is, by far, the best granola I've ever had. Thank you, Alice, for your deep knowledge of how to make superb granola good enough for dessert (though not overly sweet). Not just for breakfast!
For me, granola is a challenging product. There are so many options out there, and at first glance, it is such a simple product! When I worked at the old FK store, we would always smell the granola being made as it was brought to just the right toasted perfection. Their recipe is unlike any other I've found and to this day, it remains my favorite. Yes expensive, but truly hand-made, small-batch and exceptional ingredients. Perhaps a special treat and not for every day, but perfect as a gift!
