Maldon sea salt is produced by evaporating the salty waters of the river Blackwater that winds through Essex county in the Southeast of England. The water is filtered and carefully evaporated to create large pyramid shaped crystals that are very thin and light in texture but have a large surface area.

This variety of Maldon English Sea Salt is cold smoked over oak. It has delicate pyramid flakes, which can be crushed in your fingers for control of flake size, and a smoky flavor that's just strong enough to give a hint of smoke to foods.

    This salt smells and tastes heavenly. Not sure I would use it in cooking, but to add a little extra flavor to meats, vegetables, etc it is wonderful
