Steve Sando began the Rancho Gordo company, based in Napa, with the goal of promoting native new world specialty foods, with a focus on beans. Steve reminds us native foods from the Americas are worthy of celebration. The freshness of Rancho Gordo beans offers insight into the pure and individual flavors hidden within each type of bean.
This is a striking bean with a light brown background color and black striping. This bean cooks up to have a wonderfully rich and savory flavor. This characteristic makes these beans a perfect base for chili or re-fried beans. The bean has plenty of flavor on its own, so don't over-season!
